Residents of the parishes covered by North Walsham Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) are being encouraged to keep informed and have their say on local policing issues.
 
In a series of street briefings, local officers will offer crime prevention advice and give residents the chance to raise any issues or concerns they may have.
 
Any issues that arise will be raised in a partnership meeting where policing priorities for the area are decided.
 
The meetings over the next 12 months which will all be held at North Walsham Police Station at 7pm:

17th August 2011  

12th October 2011  

7th December 2011 

1st February 2012

 It was decided with the panel to hold the meetings at the Police station as it can be used free of charge. If you are unable to attend the next SNAP meeting and would like any issues to be considered at the next SNAP meeting please either let me or your Parish Liaison officer know and it can be raised as in issue to be considered.

 

Police are asking members of the community to be vigilant and report suspicious people and vehicles following a number of thefts from churches.
 
In the last month churches in Worstead, Swafield and Skeyton have been targeted by thieves who have made away with a hoover and a silver chalice.
 
On one occasion thieves attempted to steal a wall mounted safe.
 
If anyone witnesses suspicious activity they are asked to call Norfolk Constabulary on 999 in an emergency- when a crime is progress or 0845 456 4567 in a non emergency.

Police are warning residents in Trunch, particularly the elderly and vulnerable about bogus callers.
The warning comes after police received a report of a possible bogus callers in Robert Close earlier this week.
The caller claimed to be from a utility company and requested to check the gas meter. 
Access was gained at the address in Robert Close where the caller was taken into the garage before trying to distratced the homeowner away from the garage.
The suspect is described as, white, around 5ft 8-6ins tall, of meduim build and waering a blue fleece and blue trousers. He was seen to drive off in a white VW van. 
Sgt Kersty Brooks said:" We are urging people to be vigilant and avoid opening the door to strangers. Bogus Officials can operate in any location. Never allow strangers entry to your home unless you are completely satisfied with their identity, this can be verified by calling the company, whilst leaving the caller outside, behind a locked door".
